Buchel MUNSS, Germany

This is a 100% German base very few americans are stationed here. Its about 1 1/2 hrs from Ramstein (civilization so you'll be making trips there to little america alot). Doctors appts must be done at Spangdahlem closest american base 45 mins away via autobhan. We hated it majorly, the shops are nice but some people are not as friendly to americans. Considering we moved there in 01 right after war started to late 04. High divorce rate here, theres a lot of castles near the base if youre into that. But i'd suggest traveling as much as u can and hope to leave here soon. The squadron building is the main place most soldiers (american) work. Not a nato, not american once again 100% German base this is their neck of the woods. lol NO restaurants on base or gas staions or anything you're used to. Schools- well your children must ride a bus 45mins-1hr ride to Bitburg if its not already closed down.. or Spangdahlem. The bus is provided by the base but its very hard on children. So we decided last year there when my son started school to move to Bitburg hubby just made the long commute to work. :( Good luck if you get this assignment REFUSAL! is all i can say but you can make some extra $$ though.
