I have to say that this is definately not the best military base to live on, but it's not the worst either. There are things to do here if you just look around you. We're 45 minutes TOPS from Nashville, in which they have concerts and events going on all the time. A couple weekends ago, my husband and I drove to St. Louis for the Packers VS Rams game and we had a blast. It's not cheap, but it's entertainment and we loved it. There are nightclubs and pool halls, if that's your thing. If not, there's Dunbar Cave, which is beautiful this time of year. We just had our 2nd child the 22nd of September and we try to get out of the house whenever possible to enjoy the fall in Kentucky. I agree that this isn't the greatest place to be, but there are worse Army posts to be stationed at...we were at Ft. Leonard Wood for 9 months and there's absolutely nothing to do in that area. Enjoy it as much as possible and please don't discriminate against Military families...you're one, no matter how hard you try to deny it. We're the ones holding down the fort until the fighting overseas is through. You knew your husband was a snake when you picked him up, so just get over yourself!
