I had been stationed a Ft.Irwin for approx 2 years and I hated every minute of it. No climate change, small dining facilities and worst of all, if there was a storm (maybe once a year) all the post power would go out and the entire base would be SOL . This is not the place to put a hot out of basic training soldier for the first time and should be the last place a chemical specialist should be, there is no need for the MOS much less is there a need for a base in the middle of nowhere squared ! I believe the army could have done better and if they tried they could really bring life to the base, that is if they tried. I wonder if they rebuilt the class six, when I was there it burnt down to the ground. GO 31st
