We currently live on Camp Pedleton here in California, there is so much to do here from going to the stables to going to the movies for a very small fee of $2.00. It is usually warm and does not rain much. My son goes to the elementary scholl that I can see from my front porch, it is a great school with very nice and loving teachers. The housing off base is kind of expensive specially if you have a larger family, we lived off base for a month the cost was about 1,000 a month for a small 2 bedroom apartment. We have alot of kids so this arrangement did not work long term for us so as soon as base housing was available we jumped on it. The base housing is under new manegment and they are wonderful about making sure that everything works in your house. Now for the last question..Are the people friendly?, well, I have been here for over 2 years and have one FRIEND and a handful of people that I talk to occasionally,I have not found too many friendly people here, I hope that is not like that whenever we move to a new base. Overall the base is great, there is alot of activites for kids and they are usually free. Good Luck!
