Fort Stewart

Well, it will be 9 years that we have been here . Currently the guys are on their 2nd tour in Iraq for a 12 month deployment. As far as Ft. Stewart there is not a whole lot for children . This duty station is coming a long way. They built a new px , new Enlisted Gov't Quarters and so on . I have not seen much support for the families of deployed soldiers. The weather here is not the greatest. The summers are very hot and it rains pretty often. I don't care for it too much being that we were in Vicenza ,Italy where it was beautiful. There is a high rate of deployments on this base. There are 2 malls in Savannah which is about 45 min from Fort Stewart . Here in the town of Hinesville there is a Wal-mart , one movie theather and few stores around. If you plan on coming to this area , just be aware that the rate of deployments are high and it is not family oriented whatsoever. We are ready to get out of this place !!!
