Pope AFB

We've been stationed here at Pope a few times. When my husband went to Korea we put in to stay here, before we left from Germany we asked for Pope. We like the area and the Base. There was one time while being here the first time that my husband went TDY to Germany and one month he was due to re-enlist, so he did this while in Germany and paper work didn't get from there to here like it should have so they had him as OUT of the Air Force. Well, I took care of things at this end with Finance and our Bank and ALL of them worked with me! I even put a Thank you in the Base paper at the time (it was called the Flying Tigers then). Along with that, I have had to have a few things done at the Clinic on Base and also had to go to Womack for an MRI and a few things, I have had what I thought were very good attentive Doctors concerned with my situation. I have always been treated very well and with respect, they were easy to talk with concerning my problem at the time ('cause I like to ask questions). Any way, I believe that you treat people like you want to be treated and the results are great. Pope used to have a Commissary, back in April of 2001 it closed, there is talk that one could open up again in the future, I would like this very much as shopping at Bragg is alright with 2 Commissaries to choose from my husband would go shopping with me if there were one on Base, which I like his input. We like the weather and the area around here. Hope there is someone else out there that has had a good time here at Pope AFB.
