It is a nice clean base. If you aren't use to being in humidity then you probably aren't going to like the weather.I know I don't. The elementary school on base is really nice .The teachers my son had were really nice and they do learn a lot. Housing was ok when we first moved in but after the first hurricane we have been really bothered with ants and they are the fire ants so you can't have crumbs or anything on the floors , if you do your just asking for them. Roaches your not gonna get away from I don't think . Atleast everyone I've talked to have had them. I'm kind of use to them since before here we were in Hawaii.The commissary and the BX is pretty nice as well. I think they are a good size. We have 2 shoppettes. A movie theater, bowling alley, beach. I feel really safe here. My son is 7 and there are kids all over , even though he's not allowed to leave the street. I don't know how much rent or houses are cause since the hurricanes the prices have been a little ridiculous. Overall though It's kinda boring. If your used to the country it would probably be great. Also the mall and Walmart are about 20 mins away or so.That's all i can think to say right now , hope this helps:)
