Fairchild AFB

Fairchild AFB

This is our first base...It is small with pretty much no organized activities. We have a theater that plays 2 movies a week.we are navy and definitely outsiders.I love spokane weather,it has all 4 seasons.I would suggest living on base, however, housing by the hospital is very isolated. Not very many friendly people.I thought this is just how it is but then I read other people's reviews and realized this base is just an exception to friendliness.Husband and I almost divorced by being stuck in this base with no friends, no activities and being treated like outsiders.the CDC here is terrible, kids don't learn anything, except how to play.my kids went to a preschool off base about 30 minutes away (because the outside city is scary, don't go out after dark)and she knows the whole kindergarted curriculum and she hasn't even started! We are going to Camp Pendleton next (as navy) so we will see how we are treated on a marine base.Already having problems with the housing office (as an officer).
