The base is a good size. It has not rain for quite some time now. I dont mind the rain. But it can get VERY dry and hot here. The people are stuck ups, they are very reckless drivers! It always seem as if everyone is in a rush and causing needless accidents- so be careful!!
The hospital is nice, but in my opinion the service sucks pretty much in all departments. The only good department so far is Radiology. As far as housing goes, it seems like you live in the ghetto! Only officers get good housing. And if you choose to go off base rent is very high. It will cost you about $800 for a 1-2 bedroom with 1 bath. And the areas for that price is worst than on base. It seems though the closer to base you are the more it looks like a dump. The further away you are the nicer it is and the more money you pay.
As far as I am concern, the place is too expensive. From gas to rent...for somewhere that is so expensive, you would expect it to look like paradise....but instead you think you are in the projects. The only thing I like about this place is when it rains!! Oh, and as far as jobs go, you can forget about it. I think people just hire their friends and dont even bother to look at applications. Have tried AAFES and the hospital...it has been 4 months now.
Anyone that claims it is so nice here, is either a trailer trash or someone that just have no clue! And trust me you will find a lot of trailer trash and dumbas*** here.
