Fort Lewis, WA

I lived at Fort Lewis for five years. I was with them when they made the switch from All Star to Equity. If you are complaining about the housing it couldn't be because of Equity. The housing before was way way worse. In the last two years I was there. Equity had done a whole lot of renovating the New Hillside and some of Davis Hills houses. They built those new beautiful houses out over North Fort. I know they were beautiful because my good frien was one of the families that won the lottary for those houses. The have wall to wall carpeting spaces rooms and kitchen. Mud room with huge washer and dryer room. They had these Huge columns that more or less separated the living room from the dining room. Just beautiful. And those that think my friend was probably an officer. Your wrong. She was a Sgt. So if the housing is so nasty it isn't because of Equity. It is the people. I have been a military spouse for 12 yrs now. And no other service treats there housing so nasty as the Army does. So no wander other services still get bha even if living in army quarters. Especially the Air Force. If they do not have room on McCord they will house them on Ft. Lewis. They give them money to live there cause army houseing in substandard. Now how sad it that. So people, take care of what they give you instead of treating like a piece of trash. I lived in old hillside. yeah it can be bad if you let it. I took care of my lawn. I planted flowers. anything i could to make my house look just a little more like a home instead of just a house. As for things to do in Fort Lewis. If you don't like the outdoors then you might not like it there. I loved it there and I would go back in a heart beat. And wanna know something I just might. So PLEASE take of housing so I won't have to fix much when I get there.
