i am glad be gone from there. i've read the other comments about great lakes and i agree. if you have children in school, consider home schooling. the schools on base and even in town are terrible. not to mention the ones out in town aren't in the best parts of town. my daughter had one good teacher one year, and one that just didn't care the next. maybe better for single sailors since there's lots to do in chicago which, on a good day, is about 20 miutes away. if better half is an RDC, better find a hobby. they are almost never home. depending on who their partners are, an average workday can be up to 18 hours. and forget about days off. since the NEX doesn't seem to carry that much, we shopped out in town mostly. and everything is at least a 20 minute drive away. but six flags is only 10 minutes away and is almost more fun since you can spend the whole day there and then only have to drive 10 minutes to get home.
