We have been stationed at Fort Campbell for almost 2 years now. We lived off base in Clarksville for the first year but struggled financially. So now we have lived on base for almost 6 months now and have lived better. We are in the Old Lee Village, which is very run down but we try our best to keep our place looking descent. Since we've been here, we've seen many Drunk Drivers hitting parked cars, lots of soldiers being arrested in our unit, Drunk soldiers sitting on our porches and a few shoot outs. Just today, my husband and his company were in formation when someone shot at them during formation. Very sad. The Military police are very helpful in our apartment complex which is good. You bet, we do have our name on the list for the renovated homes. Lots of new housing going up but you have to be E-5 and above. We will be out of Ft. Campbell by the end of 2007 and we are very much looking forward to civillian jobs and starting our family out of the military.
Overall, Things are bad here but I've met a few good women who are very helpful.
