We were stationed at miramar in san diego for 5+ years and we loved it. we could walk anywhere on base anytime we wanted. The weather was great, the people were great. you could have block parties and everything without anyone messing with you. we were close to sea world, the beaches, the mountains and all of the attractions. there was always something to do. here at quantico, there is nothing to do. we live clear across the base from anything. you have to go off of base to do something and then what?there is no where to go.in san diego the weather was always great, here its either freezing or boiling. the exchange at miramar had everything you could think of and here there is hardly anything and really expensive too. you can never really get to the theme parks that are not far away because it either cost too much or the weather is bad when the kids are not in school. the schools here are awesome though and i love the teachers. they actually care, at least i hope they do. our neighbors are buttheads and are very rude. in san diego everyone would come out and great you with a smile. people here are crazy and they look at you like you have 50 heads. i think my odds are on san diego for now until people loosen up a little here.
