Ft. Hood

Hood is the first duty station for my husband and I. We were stationed here in February, and he deployed one month later. Shortly after that I had to have surgery. All I got were 2 phone calls from the FRG leader. Nothing more. I still haven't been invited to any FRG meetings or activities. Nor have I met anyone in my FRG. I'm from TX, but there's not much southern hospitality here. Even though my husband is deployed, I'm still on the waiting list for on post housing. Apartments/ housing can be cheap here. But you get what you pay for! On post housing is great.... if you can get it. Good jobs here are scarce. I have a job where I only work 6 hours a week. Yes six. I only took the job because our next duty station is Ft. Carson, and the company also does business there! I found it on my own. I still haven't met anyone here. The only people I know are a few wives from my husband's unit. And they are in the same situation as I am. I'm really looking forward to Ft. Carson!
