Fort Drum

We moved here to Fort Drum in the winter of 2005. We moved from southern California. At first it was a little scarey because we had never lived in a small community before. The winters are very cold but it is so pretty. The summers are awesome, it doesnt get too hot and there are a million outdoor activities to do. MWR puts on a lot of things to do in the summer. The housing is great, they are newly remodled and the neighborhoods are clean. The people working for housing are really nice. There is plenty of off post housing available and affordable. The schools are the best I have ever seen. There is a brand new super walmart right outside the gate. It takes some getting used to if you are used to a big city, but all in all I think this place is wonderful to raise a family.
