Fort Drum I would say is a base that is in the process of becoming a better base.Housing is sprouting up more and more everywhere.The PX is going to be rebuilt soon and its suppose to be the biggest PX in the Army.The clinic here.....Ahhh nightmarish.Kids are not allowed unsupervised unless they are being seen.Even if you are being seen you cant drag your kids with you.Some incident with a kid getting his finger caught in a sliding door made them enforce that rule.The kids finger was taken off.There is NO Urgent Care(ER) clinic here anymore.There is no hospital either.There is no schooling on base either.My whole thought on this base is just OK.Not the best I have been and not the worst.Shopping is getting better because they are getting more and more places in Watertown.There is Target,Bed,Bath&Beyond,Kohls,Petco,Ruby Tuesdays,Ponderosa,and some steakhouse.All these places have come in the past few months.I think they are trying......P.S.Housing has AC now.Every time someone moves out they renovate.If you have an older house here because you have been here to long then NO you dont have AC.But now they do it after you move out.Its not impossible to live here.
