Hood is great! The place is HUGE! We lived on post and it is easy to feel safe and comfortable. Lots of friendly people, with kids. There are 2 Px's plenty of shoppette's and a 2 commisarry's! One on each side of the post. Some Housing is old but getting upgraded, if u get into new housing it is nice! There are several different types of housing, apts., brick homes, wooden homes, 2 story homes, and are located all over the post and around the killeen area. The schools on/off post are great and have excellent ratings. Crime is so-so off post, Lots of burglaries and some drugs in certain areas. otherwise there are good areas and bad areas. Mostly good neighborhoods! Tons of nice 3 bdroom family houses and neighborhoods being built everyday in the Greater Killeen area! Overall, great place to be, tons of stuff to do in the winter and summer! The local mall is small, but not too bad. Lots of shopping 45 min south in Round Rock and 45 min north to Waco. Night Life is excellent, too, Plenty of bars and several different dance clubs, tons of differnt churches if u attend church. Getting to know the surrounding areas and the place grows on you, Come here and Enjoy!
