Alaska is nice, I'll say it twice

Elmendorf

We were at Elmendorf for 12 years in the begining I was not to sure how well I would like it, but I must say after being at bases at our nations capital and other parts of the world I truly miss it and can't wait to go back. The housing is now updated and the ranks are not separated by AM A1C SrA get the crappy houses, then SSG TSG MSG get the okay to nice homes. It is no longer like that FINALLY. We lived off base for 11 years and on for 1 year. (We got orders without notice) the homes on base are extremely nice. Auroua Military Housing is fair and just. Each familiy has his own back yark and it is the same as your neighbors. Cost of living is more, however the minimum wage alaskan average is above $7 not $4.15. There is so much do to every weekend. Do not let people scare you and say Alaska is so cold. Clear AS and Eileson AB they are FREEZING Cold. Hope you have a chance to experience one of the most beautiful places on earth God has created.
