We were stationed at Tinker AFB for 5 years. At first, I hated it, but now I wish I could go back. Oklahomans are soooooo friendly! Yes, tornadoes are scary and do not miss that, but the weather the rest of the year is pretty nice. Houses are sooo affordable! Oklahoma City has nice Malls and lots of restaurants (I recommend Zios for Italian food). Bricktown (downtown) is growing very fast and I loved just going there on Sundays for a walk and dinner. Tinker has one of the nicest commissaries and BX; I have been so disappointed after I moved from OK in 2006. While in Oklahoma I worked for a local bank, finished my master’s degree and had my first child, so I can't complain about the time that I spent there.
