My husband and I have been stationed at Ft. Campbell now for 4 years. In that time my husband has deployed twice, and the time he is home he is always training for the next deployment. I can't stand the post hospital, Blanchfield. They don't care about anyone who comes into the clinics, and they don't even listen to anything your saying. When my son was born we noticed he had a skin problem on his genitals. When I brought it up to 4 different people at the clinic, they said it was a birth mark. Well this birth mark was bleeding! Finally I went over the heads at the clinic and demanded a referral to an off post clinic. I got referred to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. We found out our son had a SERIOUS issue, he had to have surgery the next day, and now has to have a CT scan done every 3 months because he might need a liver transplant!!! I now have NO respect for anyone working those clinics. So if you have kids, you might want to try to take them to off post doctors because these people really don't care. Another thing about this area is the housing. This is a major military area and the different off post housing managers know it. All rent is at BAH, and if the BAH goes up, all the rent goes up. I know this is normal for a lot of areas. But when you rent is exactly BAH it really hurts when you still have utilities to pay for. My husband just told me this week that we have gotten orders to Ft. Lewis (we are both from WA) so thank God we are getting out of Campbell!
