Seymour Johnson is located in Goldsboro NC, which is a small town kind of place, reminds me of Mayberry, the beach is about 1.5 hours, and the mountains are also close as well. We are a nhour from Raleigh, where there is good shopping and more things to do. This is a close knit sort of place where everyone helps everyone, it is nice, people are very friendly and willing to help out with anything they can.(Most of them anyway). If you are on your way here anytime soon, I think that if you are a small town sort of person then you will definatley enjoy Seymour Johnson, the base is well kept up as you may know we have one the Installation Excellence award for this year. We have 2 large pools here on base to swim at in the summer, the weather stays fairly warm throughout the winter, not alot of cold or snow. The one thing that I do miss that does not happen here is the changing of the fall leaves, our just turn brown and die here....:(
