cherry point, nc

The base is a decent size and offers bowling, movies(some are free, fishing, golfing, and many others. The housing is not the greatest, tile floors in most, however most are off base. Shopping is not much to speak on, the nearest mall is about 25 mins, Wal-Mart about 15. The area is kind of slow however I never worry about my chidren here and the living costs are fairly inexpensive. A nice 3 bdr apt is usually around $450. There are several elementary school and although education isn't one of NC's strong points they are decent. The crime rate is low and the weather is usually pretty nice. Overall I would say it's a nice place to relax but staying too long will put you behind in the times.
