This is the best base I have lived at. If you enjoy big city life, you will be somewhat bored but Kansas City is only an hour away. The pride and professionalism that I have received on base has been exceptional. I have not run into any rude people at the commissary, BX, or hospital. Because of the B-2 some work hours might be long but I haven't heard too much complaint. The area around the base is small town atmosphere. I don't know if I would consider off-base housing affordable in the town of Knob Noster but it is in Warrensburg (9 miles away). I don't live on base but there is alot of enlisted housing. Some new houses and some newly remodeled but then there are houses that are "livable". There is feeling of comradarie here. The schools in the area are great academically. The people off base have been friendly. The weather is great! Snow, of course, in the winter but not too much. This last spring and summer's weather were great. My only complaint is the BX is too small.
