Fort Sill, OK

Fort Sill is a very historical post. It is definitely for the outdoor-type of person. The Youth Activity Center is great for the older kids! The post has a wonderful library, and the RECPLEX is super for entertainment on a Saturday. There is a great Boy Scout/Girl Scout Program. Lots of sports available for kids. There is a wonderful Wildlife Refuge nearby, and Mount Scott has a super view. The surrounding communities (Lawton, Duncan, Elgin) have a lot to offer. You really have to get out and see things, don't stay on-post. I live in Sterling (about 24 miles away) and it is great for kids. We have a nice home (we bought) which wasn't expensive. The school in Sterling is great, and the community even has a swimming pool. I didn't think I would like living in Oklahoma, but it is fun to be around cowboys and farmer's. The local community took us in, and we enjoy living here.
