Mrs.

NSB Bangor

Bangor submarine base is an excellent place to live. The base is impecably clean and offers an exceptional medical clinic. Naval Hospital Bremerton is only a fifteen minute drive from Base and can tend to most all needs. The elementary school is walking distance from base and the children are escorted from the school grounds onto the base by Base security. The commissary and NEX are decent and if you can't find something there, Naval Station Bremerton is only a fifteen minute drive from NSB. The area around the base is very scenic, however shopping can be limited if you are expecting. Base housing is very well kept and the homes are modern. Waiting lists for housing range between 1 to 6 months. All houses are at least two bedroom. City buses provide transportation around the county everyday except holidays. City buses are free of charge provided you show military ID. Seattle is also only a 30 minute ferry ride away. Bangor is a great place to live if you can put up with the never ending showers. So bring your maternity clothes and umbrella and you'll be in great shape.
