The base here in Bahrain is small, we dont have a "commissary" but a ship's store. The area is awesome, its hot, but you can adapt quickly. The island is 30 miles long, and 30 miles wide, but there is alot of places to explore. The souq is the place to be for fabric, gold, spices, perfumes, and friendly locals. You cant leave unless you buy carpets, dont forget to try the local foods, boy! the arabic food is yummy! Everyone lives off base, and we all live like kings, if you have an opportunity to see Bahrain, dont pass up the chance.
