Nellis AFB is in sunny Las Vegas. My husband & I have been stationed here for almost 3 years and we love it! The weather is beautiful all year round, the sun shines something like 360 days out of the year. There is so much to do on and off base. The base itself is kept very neat & clean, a new BX is opening this year and a new comissary in another year or two. We live on base and like it a lot (we don't have any kids, but there are tons in our neighborhood). There is a beautiful park right next to base housing, it has a track for runners and another track for people w/strollers or rollarbladers, and lots of barbeque ares for picnicing.
The job market is tight if you are looking for office-type jobs, but there are plenty of casinos, malls, and restaurants always looking for help. Our family and friends visit often because we're in Vegas. And the night life is great, you can do almost anything at any time of the day or night. Alcohol is even sold 24 hours a day here, even at the shoppette!
If you ever get the opportunity to be stationed here, you will love it! Viva Las Vegas!
