We came to Ft. Hood in May 2002. We live in Copperas Cove, a little town very close to Ft. Hood. It is a very nice area here. Pleople are friendly. Ft. Hood is not that bad, I didn't get lost yet, although I'm sooooo bad with directions :). I was scared when I heard we have to go to Ft. Hood but so far the bad stories I heard about Hood didn't come true yet...at least not for me.
The summer is almost unbearable hot and there are ANTS everywhere....so, stock up on Raid :).
Appartments are not that nice here, at least not the once we looked at. We decided to buy a house and there were a lot of nice houses available to buy and for rent.
I think it always depends on how much you want to make out of a situation. If you get a lemon then just make lemonade out of it :)!
