I haven't live on base long, but it seems to be really nice. I take my morning walks and get my exercise worth because the base is very large. Moving here from the country in Ohio, I was expecting to hate it; however, I love how there are wooded areas to roam around in :)
The prices at the North and South Post PX and Commissary are over priced but other than the steep prices the base it actually relaxing. The housing is nice for the most part with the exception of wear and tear (and a small kitchen). I would say that the Army takes care of their soldiers. I have been in military housing in Jacksonville and, although new houses are being built, I would hate living in those houses.
