We have been here in Quantico for 1 1/2 and we think it is great. The base is beautiful and there is so much to do on and off base.
The commissary is really nice and they are always running specials there. Exchange is nice and there is always something going on there. Everyone is very friendly and for spouse's there is so much to do. You tend to hear all the awful stories about wives, but I have had a great experience with it all. It is very family orientated and there is always something for the family to attend together. We have Lunga Park here and especially in the summer there is always a fishing tournament going on. We tend to go camping there. It's pretty fair game to get on base, but they are tearing the houses down to build all new one's. Off base the apartments can be expensive, but if they know you are military they really try and help you out. There is someone always renting a house because there family is moving. The season's are the best down here because you really get to see everyone one of them. From Qunatico everything is pretty much 30 to 45 min. away. You have mountians, rivers, lakes, DC, Maryland is 1 to 2 away depending on where you go. There are so many outdoor activities here you hardly get to watch TV. It's very historical in VA. As you can see you really never get bored here.
