Wheeler AAF, Hawaii

We are living in housing that was built in '32. It has a high amount of asbestos and infested with termites. Every day I clean up a heaping pile of termite droppings in my kitchen...in my KITCHEN. they've sprayed three times so far, so far nothing works. DPW and housing keeps insisting that it will work if they spray 'one more time'. The ceilings are caving in, the walls are cracking, the floors are cracking, it costs an arm and a leg to get your family pet here. Everything is expensive, the central part of oahu is ugly. the buildings are all run down. Why is the AF so much better. We go to Hickam, AFB just to get away from this rut. They have great housing, by the looks, bright green grass, they actually make it seem like you're living in Hawaii rather than El Paso. I think Hawaii is more of a visitor's paradise. I thought it would be amazing, don't get me wrong, it has its beauty, but the army needs to invest in some better housing and better living condions than this.
