I was suprised to see no review or comments about WP. I came here from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho and really like it. I loved MH as well. It is a great place if you have a family and love outdoors activities. The commisary in MH is small and not stocked well I agree. But if you want some good mexican food go to "Carlos" downtown, across from Albertson. As far as WP it is huge (HUGE) I have not seen half of it yet. It is a beautiful base, with 3 golf courses and lots of grass area, geese and ducks in the ponds winter and summer. There is so much to do here that it would be impossible to tell you about it. There is every that most people would want in a life time, there is shopping, dining of any kind you want, AF Musuem, more theaters than you can shake a stick at, fine arts, Wright State Univ., out door activities, good fishing, lots of churches, as you can see there is a lot. The base it self is very nice. The commissary is not as big as it should be, but stays well stocked most of the time. The BX is far to over priced for my taste, especially with 3-4 major shopping malls within 15 miles, if you count Springfield. The base offers lots of family activities. There are 3 pools on base for there is lots of swimming things, the base housing looks nice, I don't really know the inside conditions as we live off base, since my husband is retired. All in all I love it here. It nice to read the great comments about Idaho, and hope to hear from some people around the area.
