Patrick AFB, Florida

This area is beautiful. We are right on the Atlantic Ocean. If you love the beach this is the place for you. No winter here. People are very nice both on base and off. We lived in South housing until purchasing a home. Housing is very affordable. The schools are great. Our children attend school in Satellite Beach. If you live on the base they are bussed to Cocoa Beach, with the exception of South housing. (Which is off-base in Satellite Beach, 5 minutes from the base.) We are only an hour 1/2 from Disney World and Orlando. Lots to do. This area has lots of retirees due to great weather and central Florida location. We watch shuttle/rocket launches from our homes. The kids walk outside from their classrooms to see them take off. There is something for everyone here, unless you are a true snowbunny.
