Hi, my name is Tisharo. My husband has been in the NAVY for 9 years, we have 2 daughters, I am a Nursing student and we have been her for 2 1/2 years. We are from Louisiana and this is my first duty station. I like it here and I have really met some great people. The weather is really hot in the summer and nice in the winter. I am used to heat because of where I am from, but it is humid heat, so I had a hard time adjusting to the dry heat here. I love the schools here. My two daughters attend Akers and I feel that it is an advanced school, but the teachers they have had were wonderful. Next year we should be moving, where, I don't know yet. My husband was first stationed aboard the USS George Washington, then Florida (where I visited and loved), and Meridian and now here. We are hoping that our next duty station could be somewhere close to home. WE do live on base so I do not know about off-base housing. I really wish there were more places nearer to the base because I do not like to drive often and the good places are at least 30-45 minutes away. That is all for now, how a great day.
