Not too bad

Nellis AFB

I am currently at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV. The only thing I have to complain about here is the extremely hot summers. I'm talkin' triple digit heat. The base itself is great. Nellis is the home of the Thunderbirds, so you see them flying overhead quite often. We just had a new BX built and our commissary is being remodeled at the moment. We have a lot of choices for food vendors: BBQ, sandwiches, seafood, Burger King, 31 Flavors, Cinnabon, pizza, etc. Next year they are going to open a Starbucks on base. The housing on base is new. The housing off base is definitely affordable. And most of the people here are friendly. If you ever get bored....go down town and visit the casinos. Most of them have free shows that are wonderful to watch. I enjoy it here....except for the heat.
