Offutt AFB

My husband and i have been here at offutt for a year now. Its not the greatest place to be thats for sure. The base is small and compact. The people around here are rude and thats putting it mildly. The city claims to support the military and their families but wont hire military dependents. Employers here will ask you if your a military dependent adn then ask how long you plan to be in the area. Which is illegal i just found out. I dont mind the weather ( i was in ak b4 here) But the wind is insane. The malls here are ok. the clubs could use some improvements. And the surroundings themselves are not all that great. there is nothing but corn. There are a few places that ive found out about that have made things not so bad. There is this place calles Linoma beach its fun its this big lake they have turned into a "beach" but be carefull its very deep. There is also a great air and space muesem here. The New base housing is very nice and the plan to build more this upcoming year. The wait time for base housing is short. I waited only a week.
