Fort Knox

We lived at Ft. Knox for 4 years and I felt it was the best place. I worked in the school system there for 3 years and loved the people and the schools. We've since moved to Texas and I truly miss Ft. Knox. The Dept. of Defense schools were great. They have music and art teachers at all schools unlike many other duty stations. My husband was in 46th AG and they had a great FRG. The community and area will only be as good as you make it. The PX is fairly new and the Commissary has all you could ask for. The cost of living is very reasonable. Groceries are not nearly as expensive as other posts. Some of the housing is being remodeled with new kitchens and bathrooms. There is also new housing being built and there are some 5-10 year old homes for junior nco's. I'm hoping to move back to Ft. Knox and hopefully in a few years, my family and I can retire there.
