What can I say? I read every one of the comments made on McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Only one person had anything nice to say. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, this is my first base (McGuire). This is my husband's 3rd base. Yes my husband said that McGuire does have small and outdated housing compared to other bases but he has seen worse than this also. You complain about housing, so move off then. But wait, you complain about that it is to expensive to move off base? So deal with it. New Jersey is not the most expensive state. Where are all you haters from? Nowhere Ville? Where the only store around is a Wal-Mart? Variety people, your in the heart of it. Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York, etc......No one said that you had to sit around and do nothing all the time. There is so much to do living here. So may day trips and weekend trips that you can take, from the moutains to the beaches. And the schools are great! And for the person who wrote about trash being everywhere, pick it up then! If it's in your reach then you are not doing your job for your community! The section I live in on base housing is great. All the kids get along and we do so much with the other families. We have all become very close with each other and their families. Get out there and make friends, introduce yourself! I am going to miss my neighbors when we move in a couple of months. For the people who are rude to you, it's not only in New Jersey. Take it from someone who grew up in the area, it's great. Take advantage of all the great things that you can do here.
