Lackland AFB

Lackland is a good base over-all. The city of San Antonio itself, I do NOT like, alot of people, there is a lot of crime. This is our second base that we have been to and things are done different here than our last base, after all it is the Gateway to the AF. The housing is old, but they are starting to redo some, and the waiting list for newer housing is about 24 months. The hospital is great (Wilford Hall). Off base there is a lot to do, Six Flags, Sea World, tons of shopping. Summers are very hot and humid, and the winters can get cold. We have enjoyed our stay here at Lackland, but can't wait to move on. If you are coming to Lackland enjoy it, and take in all the city of San Antonio has to offer you.
