Andrews AFB

Andrews AFB is not as bad as everyone thinks. The location of the base is good and bad. You are 10 miles from D.C., 15miles from Va. and of course you are in Md., so you can never be bored, there is always something to do. The area is full of history, therefore activities to do. The public school system in Prince Georges County is really bad, test score the worst in Md., but if you live, 15 miles south of Andrews, in Charles County the public schools are great. However, if you want to put your children in private school there are plenty to choose from and being military depending on your rank you may qualify for vouchers and the vouchers cover the cost of school. There are jobs galore for military spouses, and the pay due to the cost of living is decent. The cost of living is expensive in the area but what place isn't expensive anymore. We have been here for 7 years and my husband volunteered for a remote so we can remain here for atleast another 3 years. And after my husband retires we plan to come back. This is where the money and the jobs are!
