Bangor, WA

Bangor is not a good place. It's fabulous if you like small towns, but seattle is dirty, the weather is one extreme to the other and the people are too stuck up to notice anything. Environmentalists protest the base and cause trouble, as a matter of fact there are ALOT of protestors. It gets up to almost 100 degrees on certian summer days, but there is NEVER AC in any house or base housing. There is no breeze, becasue there are too many PINE TREES in the way. Humidity is insane, everything is a moist heat or a moist cold. There is absolutely nothing to do for single people or for families. Yeah the scenery is nice, but it gets old and the rain is never rain, it's just the sky perpetually spitting at you, with no thunder or lightning. Plus the cost of living is outragious. Sales tax is 8.6% and if your house has a water or mountain view(of any sort) your property tax skyrockets. The NEX actually competes with outside prices and the commisary is tiny. Although, I gotta give props to the new uniform shop, it's definately worth walking into. Some people love this area, I hate it and can't wait to leave.
