Naval Weapons Station Charleston

Naval Weapons Station Charleston

Naval Weapons Station offers a lot more then many people realize. I've enjoyed my time here with my family. The weather of course stays warm and humid but is you've lived in the south east before you know htat is to be expected. The base is actually in Goose Creek, SC, but you're only about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. I love downtown, from th shopping in all of the little shops to the tourist attractions. You have an open air market, tons of "mall like" stores, historical attractions, city tours, or the South Carolina Aquarium (which my four year old loves) to pick from. You have two malls close by, 5 movie theatres (one on base, and when you tire of that you have Marrington Plantation on base, where you can walk, fish, bike ride, play soccer, football, etc. Or just take your kids to one of the numerous on base parks. It's a wonderful family friendly base.
