Fort Bragg, NC

Fort Bragg was okay. My husband was stationed there for almost 2 years before we moved overseas to Belgium. Fort Bragg was our first duty station. My husband HATES the army now because of it! He canno't wait to get out in 3 years! It is great that there are 2 PX's and 2 Commissaries. And there are a ton of stuff to do, so you are never bored. But the people are sooooooo rude. We made our friends and that is pretty much who we did stuff w/all the time. Our neigboor hood SUCKED! Our neighbors were racist (and we are the white ones!) and they all had this stupid obssesion w/parking spots that didnt belong to them. My friend lives in a neigboor hood across from where we were, and she seems to like it okay. Maybe we just got screwed. The weather is pretty warm and humid, I had to get use to that! My daughter was born there last November, and I had bought a fleece out for her! The poor girl! A couple month later it snowed! Which was unsual! It hadnt snowed the year before! It was great for us casue we LOVE snow and were use to it and missing it so! We did live off base for a while , we had a nice apt that I still miss, it was rather afordable, had a fireplace, and there was an indoor/outdoor pool on the premises. Overall I do miss it, cause now we are in Belgium, which is great, but it takes some gettig use to. No US hospital here for us, so that freaks me out in case of an emergency. The people at Ft Bragg were pretty rude, but if you can meet some nice people and just stick to them, then its not so bad. All the facilaties are what make it liveable.
