What good comments can I say for a base located in the middle of BFE!!! I moved there in July, huge mistake, weather is unbearable during the summer. Trying to find a job was very hard, unless you want to drive 100 miles to Austin or Waco and even if you do find a job the pay will probably be nothing. Pay in the city of Killeen and anywhere around there, doesn't pay what is deserved. If anyone moved from California had a well paying job don't expect to receive the same pay. Thank goodness for the commissary and the Super Wal-mart. Great bargains!!! People are people, some rude and some cool, but the officers wives are a pack of bitches. The apartment we rented was very nice. Thank goodness there was no ants and a very good working air-conditioner. If you come from a big city and move to Fort Hood get ready for a major culture shock. The place for fun is Club Fusion on Veterans Memorial and Twin Creek, other then that the place for fun is Austin.
