Key West NAS, Ft Rucker, Ft. Bragg

Key West NAS, Ft Rucker, Ft. Bragg

My husband has been in the Army for 17 yrs. We have been married for 5 of that. Our first duty station together was Key West NAS. It was a nice place to be. Very beautiful, and the locals are friendly. No Walmart though. LOL I miss Key West, the scenery and the job I had at Lower Keys Animal Clinic. I would love to go back! Then we came to Fort Rucker. I noticed no one has mentioned either of these. Fort Rucker is nice. The locals and friendly, and everything you need is pretty close by. Especially if you like to fish. There are lots of lakes. There are 2 Super Walmarts too. :)The housing office at Rucker is full of nice people. I am currently a waiting spouse cause my husband just for Korea. If you are alone, they are very helpful. I just love the elderly man that runs self help too. He's really nice. Rucker only has 2 seasons....very hot, and semi cold. At least it's only an hour to Panama City or Destin. As for Ft. Bragg, I grew up there. I must admit there are lots of rude people there, I wasn't one of them. Please don't judge the whole town, and post by the rude people you run into there. Realize that because the kind of post it is, there are people of all types living there. I read where someone said they have all 4 seasons, that's true, they do. I do miss it. Most of my friends are there, and my family. If it wasn't for the fact that my husband would end up being in the field alllllll the time, I would go back in a hearbeat.
