Ft.Riley

Well not to much said about Ft.riley, but if you have been assigned to come here ..It is a nice area, historical sites , stone buildings on main post and an ok PX and Commissary.. If you are an avid hunter, trapper or fishing guy/girl, Fort Riley is the place!!!! It is rich with abundant wildlife, and not to mention lake milford. Lake Milford has is a BIG BIG Lake, excellent fishing spots and lots of boating fun. By the way, it is quite common to have to stop for deer crossing ...no joke!!! As far as the schools, I hear they are good although my son attends headstart.. Housing is okay. Maintanence is very good about repairing. I am not a KSU Fan and purple is not my color, but no one seems to mind you wearing the colors of your hometown.. Atleast not on post.. Junction City is not the greatest place to live but it is not far from post..and the cost of living there is cheap.. I think that on a scale of 1-10, I would rate Ft. Riley a 7 ..... at best ..Hah !! By the way thanks to all for letting me know what to expect of Ft. Hood. My hubby is in Korea and he will return on December and we have been given Ft.hood as a homebase ..LOrd help us !! I hope not, but I guess I better make a "Big Jug", of lemonade ... Thanks all , Deborah
