Ft.Hood, TX

Well, I've read everything people have wrote about Ft.Hood here. Everyone has there own opinion. I grew up here. My father is retired Army. I graduated from Cove High and left for greater places--Houston, upstate NY, CT. Ended up right back here. Then I met my husband and had two kids here. I wouldn't have my kids at Darnell I know what Army Dr.'s can do! So my kids were born at Metroplex--great place--a room to myself both times! If you want housing, yes there is a waiting list! As soon as you find out you're coming here, be put on it. Best place to live is in Cove-Cheaper! Just look before you jump on some of the places. For fun? Well, I do have to admit you might have to look for that. Harker Heights has all the clubs. There is one in Cove, a small town club, everyone knows everyone just about. The summers can be hot if you aren't use to it. Winters? Can be cold, straight to the bone unlike up north. Ft. Hood is the biggest base and fun to roam on! I work on post for Range Control. The best places for work is on post---just be ready to do a lot of paperwork--10 yr background check. All in all it's not THAT bad. All depends how you want to look at it and how you want to do things. Things here will not be handed to you, you have to work for it. That is the Texas way.
