Nice base you are in the middle of the northern area of Italy. Less then 20km away is Lago di garda, it is a nice lake, lots of things to do around the lake. There is several lakes and things to see in the area. the base is about only 5km from the Autostrada A-4 that goes west of Milan to veneza (Venice).
There is no Base housing and no school for pre school unless you enroll them in Italian school. The bx is really like a shoppette, they have a library, a club, and etc. The base is own by the Italians and it is mainly Italian military on the base. About a hour down the A-4 is Camp Ederle(army) it has a ok bx and the comminsary is good. Aviano ab is only about 2.5hrs away, when you go there it seems like LITTLE USA.
