This place is a mix of good and bad. In my opinion, it truly SUCKS, but I transferred here after 8 years in Maine, and the heat is killing me. The air quality is bad here, be prepared for sinus problems. Asthma is big, alot of kids have problems. If you don't like spiders, stay away, they are everywhere. Red ants are bad. Mice are bad. (Especially if you get stuck in old housing, so lovingly called the Flintstones).
Lemoore is in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. I am from farm country, I am used to it, but it sucks having to drive absolutely everywhere for decent shopping. On base, the exchange is nice, the commissary is large, the hospital is great. NAS Lemoore is it's own little town. I go off base maybe a few times a month, that's it. The schools (2 elementaries) on base are good, and the youth services here has alot of sports for younger kids. There really is not much for older teens to do, unless they drive or you drive them.
I don't know, take it or leave it. I am definitely ready to LEAVE IT!
