Ft. Sam Houston, Ft. Rucker, West Point

West Point

I have moved to three different bases with my husband so far. Ft. Sam was our first. It was a very nice base. We weren't fortunate enough to get base housing, but the commute wasn't very long. I liked the PX and commisary there better than the last two bases. The only thing that I didn't like about Ft. Sam was the fact that I had to ride 45 minutes while in labor to Lackland. Anyways...Ft. Rucker was the second bases. I loved living in Enterprise, AL. It was only an hour away from my and my husbands hometown...Greenville, AL. We lived off base. I loved having a supercenter Wal-mart 5 minutes away. Everyone was really nice there too. I now currently reside on base in West Point, NY. I love the base here. It's usually very quite and everyone it really nice. The hospital here is very nice. I had my second son here. My husband also works in the hospital. One of the things I don't really care for to much is the football game only because there is no where to park over at the commisary and PX because the MPs have the football fans park their cars there. The other thing is the winter. It's WAY to cold. I've only been here a year and I dread seeing winter come back around again. I guess it's just hard on me and my husband because we lived in Alabama our whole lives. I'm sure we'll get used to it and then is won't be so bad.
